Laura Bruen, Artist & Photographer - NYCbio_pic
Laura Bruen is a multidisciplinary self-taught artist and photographer born in Brooklyn, NY with a a childhood filled with art, film, and music, Laura enjoyed drawing with charcoal and pencil.  Laura’s mother was an art & acting teacher and worked for a time at NYC’s Museum of Modern Art (MOMA),  as a result, Laura became enamored and enjoyed working across as many mediums as she was exposed to.  This inspired her to spend hours with pencil, charcoals and oil pastels early on.  At the age of 10, Laura was introduced to a new medium – slr photography, when she was given a Nikon F3 as a birthday gift.  

Her love of art continued into her adult years for even as she worked as an Institutional Sales Trader at Prudential Securities in New York City, Laura sold mixed media paintings to private NYC collections.  She was a huge part of the dot-com boom as she became enamored with the “new age” of advertising, she attended Open Eye Media in NYC where she learned Branding, Interactive Design and Animation.  She left Prudential Securities whereupon she worked as an Interactive Creative Director for ZincMedia, Inc., where she won awards for developing online brand campaigns and designed co-branded websites for Toy ‘R Us, Cingular Wireless, Pepsi, Pfizer, Instinet, CIT Financial, Accenture & Reuters.

Creative direction emphasized her passion for photography and when Laura became a parent, she began to shoot professional headshots, later expanding into portraits, boudoir, events, and commercial photography.  Her work has appeared regularly in American Bridal magazines.  She has been shooting branded ATHLETE portraits for several years.

Laura lives with her husband their two children in a renovated 1800s farmhouse near Red Bank, NJ and is available on assignment Internationally.
